The Microbial Genomes Atlas (MiGA) is a system for the preprocessing and taxonomic classification of genomes. The preprocessing includes steps for basic annotation and quality control. The taxonomic classification is based on genome-aggregate Average Nucleotide and Amino Acid Identity (ANI & AAI).
MiGA includes a base infrastructure supporting single-computer and grid computing, a command-line interface, a reusable filesystem infrastructure designed for human usability, and a Ruby API, as well as a Rails web interface powering our online webserver.
